How We Help
Heading Home’s programs are designed to meet people where they are and follow a trauma-informed, client-centered case management model that emphasizes self-agency with a goal of self-sufficiency and independence. Our housing programs – emergency shelter, transitional, permanent supportive housing, and stabilization – are paired with wraparound supportive services, including housing search assistance, childcare voucher assistance, career/financial coaching, and clinical/mental health support.
In 2023, Heading Home supported over 2,000 children and adults on their journeys out of homelessness.
For the last 18 consecutive years, Heading Home’s retention rates have been 90% or higher; last year, 95% of Heading Home clients remained housed one year after leaving our programs.
Meeting the Need
With the family shelter system extended beyond capacity and a growing waitlist of unhoused families, Heading Home is partnering with city, state, and community leaders to meet the monumental need for shelter. In 2023, we expanded our programming to include homelessness prevention efforts in addition to our primary shelter and housing solutions.
